How to reset your lift if it has stopped working
If your lift has stopped working this guide will show you step by step how to get it going again…
Go to each landing door and check that the doors are closed and latched properly. You can do this by gently wiggling each door when it’s closed.
Once you’ve checked all of the doors, go to one of the floors that the lift isn’t at, and try and call it. If the lift doesn’t come when called, proceed to the next step
Go to the lift machine room. This is where the lift electronics and hydraulics are located.
On the front of the electronics, cabinet will be a screen. Take a photo of the screen using your phone or a camera before doing anything else.
If you see an alarm warning on the screen, press F3 repeatedly until the alarm warning disappears. If, after several presses, the alarm warning won’t disappear, stop pressing F3 and proceed to step 7
If, after pressing the F3 button, the screen reads “Lift is Ready” your lift should be ready to use. Walk to one of the upper floors and call the lift. If the lift does not come, proceed to the next step
Locate the power isolate switch on the wall of the lift plant room. It will probably be like a normal power or light switch, with a cable going from it into the lift electronics. Switch this to the OFF position.
Wait for about 2 minutes. If the lift is at an upper floor, it should have lowered down to the ground floor and will be there now.
Open the electronics cabinet and it will look similar to the image below
At the bottom of the cabinet are two batteries, with leads as shown in the image. Disconnect one of the leads from one of the batteries. It doesn’t matter which lead you disconnect, just unplug one and leave it unplugged
After about 20 seconds the lift electronics will have completely shut down. Switch the power back on at the wall, and then reconnect the battery lead you disconnected.
After about 30 seconds the lift screen will be back to normal and if the reset has fixed the lift issue, the screen should say “Lift is Ready”
