These guides outline the design, construction, wiring and finishing details for the lift pit, shaft and entrances, as well as the requirements for the small machine room that houses the Powerglide HPU and PLC. A lot of the requirements outlined in this booklet are to ensure the installation meets the relevant New Zealand Building Code Standard for this installation. IMPORTANT: Please ensure the main building contractor has read this guide completely before any building work commences on the lift shaft or machine room. This guides assists with the design of a glass lift shaft and shows typical examples of how a glass shaft is typically constructed to suit a Powerglide Elevator and shows concepts around a steel frame for the glass, glass doors, and glass balustrade requirements.


These guides outline the landing door requirements for all Powerglide lifts. They show how the doors should be made and hung in the shaft, what preparation is required for the latches and wiring, and when required, how to prepare the door frame and jamb for auto door operators.


Powerglide Elevators has a large range of size options available for your lift car. The lift car can be square or rectangle, and can have doors coming out of a maximum of 3 sides. This technical resource shows all possible combinations.
