ELECTRONIC SAFETY CURTAIN & pressure sensitive edge
Powerglide’s S-Series & E-Series Residential Elevators have an electronic safety laser curtain that scans any open faces of the lift car. If anything breaks the beam, the lift car immediately stops. For example, if a child dropped a toy against a moving surface, the lift car would immediately be immobilised. Once the toy is retrieved and fingers are safely away from the wall, the lift car can be activated again by simply pressing the button.
In the rare case that the obstruction isn’t cleared (for example, if a passenger collapses against the wall) the lift defaults to a safe descent mode, slowly descending to the lower level at a safe speed. Once at the lower level, the lift door will automatically unlock.
For commercial/public elevators and open-car elevators, we install a pressure-sensitive edge that performs a similar function.
reassurance of DIRECT DRIVE RATHER THAN ROPES or chains
Unlike other hydraulic lift systems on the market which use ropes or chains to drive the lift car, in the Powerglide system, the hydraulic cylinder acts directly on the lift car. If you prefer the idea of being directly attached to the drive rather than hanging from a rope, you’ll find the Powerglide system vastly more reassuring.
SAFE EXIT DURING POWER FAILURE
Have nightmares about getting stuck in an elevator? You’ll be reassured by our proprietary Powerglide Glide Dynamix software control system. In the event of a power failure, a Powerglide Elevator will automatically return to the lower level using a backup battery. Once safely positioned at the lower level the door will unlock to allow an easy and safe exit from the lift car. The battery backup also keeps the lift lights on so you can easily see your way out.
REMOTE MONITORING
Powerglide’s remote lift monitoring facility provides full lift system access to Powerglide’s technical team offsite. This means we are able to control, monitor, solve and potentially repair or upgrade your system, from our Tauranga factory. If the alarm button is pressed, Powerglide automatically receives an alert message. We respond by logging into the lift, viewing its status, and taking control of it to facilitate the passenger’s safe exit.
