No ceiling space machinery ideal for skillion roofs

Architects often assume that a platform lift is the only option for a skillion roofed building, however, the unique Powerglide mechanism means that both open-style and cabin lifts can be used.

Powerglide elevators run on their own, self-supporting rails, with the entire lifting mechanism accommodated between the rails. With no machinery or wiring above the roof of the lift car, they are ideal for buildings with sloping ceilings or very little ceiling height. This also eliminates the need to strengthen the ceiling rafters or construct a specially engineered, hard-wearing shaft.

In a Powerglide elevator, the highest part of the structure is the rail mechanism, which runs approximately 2.3m above the top floor.
